The Infinite Energy Solar Car Challenge has been designed to promote and develop expertise in using solar and renewable technologies.
High School students will take on an exciting problem-based learning challenge and design, build, and race their very own solar-powered model car; see 2-minute video below.
Schools have the option to attend workshops to support the planning and design of their solar car and expand on their classroom knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics principles.
Students will race their solar-powered cars around the Infinite Figure-8 Track in order to determine the fastest-engineered car and the top four teams will receive prize money.
The two-day competition will take place over the 28th and 29th of October at the University of Western Australia. The top four teams will be invited to represent Western Australia at the Australia International Solar Model Car Challenge.
There are limited free solar model car kits available to get you started, so register today!
